One-click demo import lets you replicate the exact look of the theme demo on your site in minutes. This guide walks you through the full process, common issues, and post-import configuration steps.
Before you import
Run through this checklist to avoid the most common import failures:
- Fresh WordPress install — Demo import works best on a fresh install with no existing content.
- PHP memory ≥ 256 MB — Check in Dashboard → Tools → Site Health → Info → Server.
- Max execution time ≥ 300s — Some servers default to 30–60 seconds which will time out.
- All required plugins installed and active — Elementor, WooCommerce (if applicable), and any theme-specific plugins.
- Disable any security plugins temporarily — Some firewall plugins block import requests.
Step 1 — Open the Theme Options panel
Go to Appearance → Theme Options (or the theme-specific import page — it may also be under Appearance → Demo Importer or Appearance → Get Started depending on the theme version).
Step 2 — Choose a demo
Most Themezinho themes include multiple demo variations. Browse the available demos and click Preview to see how each one looks before committing. Once you’ve chosen, click Import next to that demo.
Step 3 — Confirm and run the import
A confirmation dialog will appear listing what will be imported:
- Pages and posts
- Menus and menu locations
- Widgets and sidebars
- Theme settings and customizer options
- Elementor templates (if applicable)
Click Yes, Import and wait. The import typically takes 1–5 minutes depending on your server and content size. Do not close the browser tab while the import is running.
Step 4 — Post-import setup
- Go to Settings → Reading and make sure “Your homepage displays” is set to “A static page” and the homepage is selected.
- Go to Appearance → Menus and confirm the correct menus are assigned to the right locations.
- Flush your permalink structure: go to Settings → Permalinks and click Save Changes (no changes needed — just saving triggers a flush).
- If using Elementor, go to Elementor → Tools → Regenerate Files & Data to regenerate CSS.
Troubleshooting
Import gets stuck or times out
Increase max_execution_time in your php.ini to at least 300 seconds. If you’re on shared hosting and can’t change this, try running the import at an off-peak time or contact your host to temporarily increase the limit.
Images didn’t import
Demo images are pulled from an external server during import. If your server blocks outbound HTTP requests (common on some locked-down hosts), the import will complete but images will be missing. Contact your host to whitelist outbound connections, then re-run the import.
Pages imported but look wrong
Make sure all required plugins are active before importing. If you activated plugins after the import, you may need to re-run it. Also go to Elementor → Tools → Regenerate Files & Data.
